As a child of the digital age, my 6 month old daughter loves anything technology related.  Looking at the screen saver on the iMac, hitting the keyboard and reaching for and trying to use the Harmony multi-function remote.

Being a parent of the digital age, and a HiTech Dad, I have more than a few keyboard lying around.  A perfect cost efficient toy for my daughter came in the form of an old Microsoft Natural Keyboard with the cord cut off for safety.

It goes something like this:

  • Sit kid upright either between your legs or in the favorite chair
  • Put child-proof keyboard in front of kid
  • Kid will spend up to 30 minutes whacking the crud out of the keyboard in utter delight

The next invention, taking an old pee cee, hooking up a keyboard to that with some music response.

While I’m preaching about night-time sleep methods, along came a C|NET Best of CES 2008 - Home Audio award to my favorite company SlimDevices! Congrats! They have a new product on the market called Squeezebox Duet Network Music System. I believe this will be a must have for HiTech Dads everywhere. It’s an affordable solution to the Sonos Digital Music System which is an awesome, yet very cost prohibitive setup.
