What Dads do When Mom is Gone

Lily Jumping on the couch

I have been taking a lot of pictures with my new camera lately and my favorite subject is my daughter. This is an example of what kind of trouble dads get into when left with a 2 year old. We basically revert to a somewhat smarter 2 year old.

Instead of telling my daughter “No” as she bounced on the chair I kept telling her “One more time” so I could get the shot I wanted. Yeah Dads are that smart…

My wife figured it out once she saw the pics. I thought the cuteness would overwhelm her safety first mentality. It did, for about 10 seconds. Then came the questions, “How did you get her to float there? Is that Photoshopped?” Busted…

No children where harmed in the making of this photo.

Not just dads! LOL I’m as guilty as they come! “Just one more time.. and do like this..” hee.. She’s a doll and obviously having tons of fun. Just wrap her in bubble wrap next time! That should certainly keep you out of trouble.

I love it. Looks like a still promo for a Jackie Chan movie. Crouching daddy, hidden toddler.

Don’t you just ADORE that camera? I have the same one, only not the XTi…just the XT. Got it for Christmas from my hubby (he’s completely redeemed himself for all the really BAD gifts he’s purchased in the last few years…and has a free pass for the next year or so!). I adore my camera and can take an average of 100 pictures every time it is in my hands. I play with the different features every day, and just LOVE what I can do with it. I’ve also gotten into the editing process and love playing with actions there as well. You can see some of the fun photos I took this weekend (catching bubbles actually being blown AND popping).

And even though your wife might not actually like that your little one jumped on the couch, she can’t argue that you took a fantastic ACTION shot!

  17. Adrian says:

When asked how did you make her float? you could have replied, I tied her to the ceiling by her hair ;)

  19. Great action shot! How many times did your adorable daughter have to jump before you captured this shot? This was a great post. It made me laugh and wonder just what my husband does when I’m not around???
